Shippu Doto ~Dairen'oh~
"Shippu Doto ~Dairen'oh~"
(Dairen'oh from Gosei Sentai Dairanger)
I have to admit I cling to my childhood rather tightly than I feel I intended to. But something about this mech has always been just pleasant (Although, I remember it as the Thunder Megazord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2). I decided to run with the old rice paper painting style aspect for this one, however making the Dairen'oh more prominent by giving it stronger shading.
The "stamp" at the bottom was also a fun little addition to the piece, which actually is quite messy, from an aesthetic standpoint. ^__^;;

*Note that the paper texture was added digitally in Photoshop, as I had no means to obtain rice paper to complete this as desired.

Toward Tomorrow
"Toward Tomorrow"
(Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, Kairi, and Riku from Kingdom Hearts II)
Probably the last Kingdom Hearts fan art I'd done, as the franchise started to get a bit carried away, even for me. Maybe once it wraps up, I might try it again, assuming it does in my lifetime.
I wanted to try a mix between my own personal styling and Nomura's, giving an interesting final effect that's nowhere near as bad as I imagined it could have been.
I had always wanted to add more to this, but the time has long passed and I hate "touching up" my traditional pictures.

Fate
"Fate"
(Original Characters)
A redo to my very first illustration for my story (originally done back in 2004), this was also the only digital illustration I did in the year of 2009. I'm still very, very proud of this piece, however it also represents WHY I went back to traditional methods. A lot of it is just too clean for the kind of style I was going for, plus the time I spent cleaning up little details simply because I could, made this a catalyst for my return to hand-made pictures on paper. This one will, likely, be redone, again. But not yet.

Death Does Wear Blue
"Death Does Wear Blue"
(Mega Man/The Megas)
I did this piece, not only for Mega Man (or Rockman), but also for The Megas.
If you've ever listened to their music, they make rock versions of BGM from the Mega Man games and give them lyrics, largely from the perspective of the robot masters, and make out Mega Man akin to a god of death, destined to pull them from their steel mortal coil. It gives a strong feeling of "history is written by the victors."
My first full illustration in Prismacolor markers! I had some real fun taking the liberties of making Mega Man look truly frigtening whilst still retaining what makes him iconic.
"Get Equipped with Fear!"
Back in 2009-2010, The Megas found my picture and posted it on their site. Sadly, their site has been overhauled and the fanart section since removed.

Just a Puppet
"Just a Puppet"
(Sephiroth and Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII)
Probably the most risque picture I've done (publicly ^_^;), but wanted to show how much I could get away with without showing really anything. I gave this one a similar visual style like I did Seventh Heaven, despite the large time gap between the two pieces. I don't really have a lot to say about this piece as I don't really recall too much around it. All I know is it gives all my friends nosebleeds.

Anima of Hell
"Anima of Hell"
(Original Character)
Part two of the intended cover illustration for an artbook I never completed.
This one didn't turn out quite as well as its counterpart picture, but am still fond of some of the effects. Once again, though, the edging was still a mistake, but even more-so with this piece, since the black shows up a lot more of the paler colors. Oh well. If I ever redo these, I'll be sure to add a bit of a bleed.

Anima of Heaven
"Anima of Heaven"
(Original Character)
Part one of an intended cover illustration for an artbook I was going to compile, however got scrapped when I was no longer able to do the rest of the illustrations for it due to my computer crapping out. :P
I still really like how this piece turned out, though, in retrospect, I shouldn't have done the "painted edging", since -when cropped- cuts too far in on the face, in particular...
